OK- please do keep in mind that these are my opinions and the facts as I remember them, they may not be completely accurate on the same token they are most likely not exactly in accord with how the organizers of BEST (Bill Pratt and Rory Bled) would have to say about the program. This is not a disclaimer for a flame of BEST but more I'm trying to say that this is not a official discribtion of the BEST program.
You know what they say about 2nd semester Seniors-lazy, flaky, always cutting class. Several would say that these Senior need some discipline in tier lives, others might suggest that after 3 1/2 years of High School the 2nd semester Senior has become uninterested in what now has become a very old game-High School. BEST attempts to put the Senior's energies into productive and educational community based projects that allow Seniors to explore the world of not high school into which they will soon be entering.
I've found BEST to be a great way to explore and learn some things that I never could have learned about in a class room. Like managing your time and setting goals around how to work as efficiently as possible to solve a problem. That's right with out a lesson plan and a teacher to guide you through it you have to figure out what the best way to go about doing something is.
Check out this page for more about what I learned
